I don't think there is much of a chance for two reasons. One is IBM isn't focused on Notes like it should. I don't _remember_ importing via csv, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there.

The second is trying to do anything with a Microsoft product is always like trying to hit a moving target. Microsoft has always changed parts of it's products so third party applications didn't work with them. The main reason (I've gathered) is to move you closer to their products. A Notes install is pretty hardy, so it can live through sever changes in a Microsoft application. And users have a tendency to blame not the non-Microsoft product for the problem, even if Microsoft it the product that changed.

I have a post on doing an import, and you can see it here:

{ Link }

You may notice that when I create the Excel object, I have a comment about the version. This is an example of Microsoft changing things. Every so often, the object that needed to be created gets a new name, so older code ceases to work. An earlier version of my code included:

Set Excel = CreateObject( "Excel.Application.8" ) ' for windows95

I had to ask the user for version of the OS and Excel, then send my code to create the correct object.

My post doesn't do some of the fancier stuff it can - like it hard codes the file names and locations. I did this for the convenience of the reader. I was posting about importing, not getting file names and locations via dialog boxes. You are welcome to use this, or I can help modify it if you need.

Cheers,

Brian
