    Empower the Legal Staff

IT guys tend to be very knowledgeable. They tend to be experts. That expertise is of course in information technology, their professional field. You wouldn’t expect them to know all the ins and outs of the law, for instance. Legal staff are supposed to know the in and outs of the law, and that’s why it makes sense for company lawyers to be in charge of discovery and finding relevant documents for cases. For the e-discovery of email, there is a Lotus Notes discovery solution, ReduceMail Pro e-Discovery, designed to be used by lawyers specifically.

Receiving only minimal training from IT, in-house counsel can use ReduceMail Pro e-Discovery to set legal holds and search the Lotus Notes mailfile for relevant documents. It can be an indispensable early case assessment tool, giving a company the information it needs to put itself in the best legal position. E-discovery without a proper solution can be an elaborate and expensive affair, which oftentimes is so painstaking that a company cannot get relevant documents when it needs them. Bear in mind that having any kind of Lotus Notes mail search solution is a good idea, but when legal staff use a solution directly, the e-discovery is further streamlined and that much more effective.

Empower the legal staff. Give them advanced tools to deal with any Lotus Notes discovery challenge they may encounter. Make them the best they can be at doing their important jobs.
