What parts of the Lotus Notes UI are slow?

Ed Brill challenged us saying that the Lotus Notes client starts up in 3 seconds (I think the video he referred to is even faster than that).

Let's take Ed up on the challenge and improve the Notes client speed.  Let's list the outstanding speed issues and have them fixed.

Here is one speed issue:  I opened PMR 34758,7TD,000 that states that copying html text from a web page to a Notes text field unnecessarily pulls up lots of .js pages before the text is eventually copied over.  It works fine if you copy it into a Memo Subject field but not if you copy it into a regular text field.  It used to be even worse - it used to go through the stylesheets as well, that was fixed.

Here is another speed issue:  when the Notes client crashes it asks me whether it should run diagnostics.  I decline.  Yet when it starts up again I believe it is running nsenddiag, contrary to my requested input.  I did not file a PMR on this one but will take careful notes next time it crashes (I do all kinds of things to my client).

What are the other examples?  If you like, I will, upon author request only, delete the examples once the software is fixed.  But until then they will stay up.

    Makes sense?
