Is Domino journaling the new mail backup?

Mail backups can easily become a headache.  

We had a client who needed to search through 2 years of daily full backup tapes of email.  Much of the mail thus had 730 instances on the backup tapes!  The tapes took a long time to load even with twenty computers working in parallel.  The de-duplication was the least of it.

One way to circumvent this issue is to use the Domino journal as a backup.  It keeps a single (!) copy of all emails that come in.  You will use fewer backup tapes.  If you need to search the journals for content, find an accidentally deleted email, or manage them in other ways we have ReduceMail Pro Journal for you.
